Reporting to the Manager of Special Projects, this role requires a skilled Statutory Inspection Technician with strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering a professional inspection service to our customers.

Responsibilities of the role:

As a Statutory Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections across a wide range of equipment and assets to ensure safety, compliance, and operational integrity.

 

Your key duties will include:

  • Performing statutory inspections on lifting equipment, pressure systems, and other assets in accordance with legislation and company procedures.

  • Preparing accurate inspection reports and maintaining detailed records of compliance.

  • Identifying and reporting defects, non-compliance issues, and potential safety risks.

  • Ensuring inspections are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Supporting clients with technical advice regarding statutory obligations and inspection requirements.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to promote a strong safety culture.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

  • Travelling to client sites as required, including offshore and remote locations.

Job requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in statutory inspections and compliance.

  • Strong technical knowledge of lifting equipment, pressure systems, or related assets.

  • Understanding of inspection processes and safety-critical systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to work in varied environments, including offshore and renewable energy sites.

  • Integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Relevant engineering or inspection qualifications (e.g., LEEA).

  • Offshore certification (GWOs).

  • Experience in the renewable energy or heavy industry sectors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • Good communication skills and confidence in working with clients.
